Women's Health Physiotherapy
From pregnancy to postpartum recovery and beyond, a woman's body goes through profound physical changes that deserve dedicated, specialist care.
Conditions We Treat
Prenatal & Antenatal Physiotherapy
Pregnancy places significant demands on your body shifting your centre of gravity, stretching your core, and loading your joints in new ways. Antenatal physiotherapy helps you stay active, comfortable, and strong throughout your pregnancy. We guide you through safe, trimester-appropriate exercises, breathing techniques, and postural adjustments that prepare your body for labour and reduce common pregnancy-related discomforts like back pain, pelvic heaviness, and swelling.
Postnatal & Postpartum Recovery
The weeks and months after childbirth are a critical window for recovery yet they're often the time women receive the least support. Whether you've had a vaginal birth or a C-section, our postpartum physiotherapy helps you heal your core, restore pelvic floor function, manage scar tissue, and safely return to activity. We also recognise the emotional weight of the postpartum period and integrate CBT-based strategies to support your mental resilience alongside your physical recovery.
Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that supports your bladder, bowel, and uterus and it can be weakened or damaged through pregnancy, childbirth, hormonal changes, or surgery. Our pelvic floor rehabilitation begins with a thorough assessment to understand whether your pelvic floor is weak, tight, or uncoordinated, and builds a targeted retraining program to restore proper function reducing symptoms like leaking, heaviness, or pelvic pain.
Diastasis Recti (Abdominal Separation)
Diastasis recti, the separation of the abdominal muscles along the midline is extremely common during and after pregnancy, yet often goes undiagnosed. Left unaddressed, it can cause ongoing back pain, core weakness, and a persistent "mummy tummy" appearance. We assess the degree of separation and guide you through a safe, progressive core rehabilitation program that closes the gap, restores abdominal function, and rebuilds your core strength from the inside out.
Pelvic Girdle Pain & SPD
Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) and symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) cause pain around the front or back of the pelvis, often making walking, climbing stairs, or turning in bed extremely uncomfortable during or after pregnancy. Our treatment focuses on stabilising the pelvic joints through targeted exercises, manual therapy, supportive taping, and activity modification providing significant relief so you can move through your day with far less pain.
Urinary Incontinence & Bladder Issues
Leaking when you laugh, sneeze, cough, or exercise is common but it is not something you simply have to live with. Urinary incontinence is a sign that the pelvic floor needs retraining, and physiotherapy is one of the most effective first-line treatments. We assess your bladder habits, pelvic floor function, and contributing lifestyle factors, then build a personalised program to restore bladder control and give you back your confidence.
